Coronation street parties taking place this weekend

Several street parties are being held in West Kirby and Meols to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

In common with other local authorities, Wirral Council waived the fee normally attached to applying for a road closure notice.

The following streets will be closed for celebrations:

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

West Kirby – Mostyn Avenue (8am to 8pm)

Sunday 7 May

Meols – Bertram Drive, from 56 to 31 and 36 to 11a (10am to 6pm)

West Kirby – Chomondeley Road, between Princess Avenue and Egerton Drive (11am to 8pm)

Monday 8 May

West Kirby – Raeburn Avenue (2pm to 5pm)

Meols – Barn Hey Crescent, from 49 to 73 (11:30am to midnight)

Other local events to mark the Coronation

On Sunday 7 May, St Luke’s Church in Hoylake is holding a Coronation Big Lunch from 11:30am – 3pm.

On Monday 8 May, Barnardo’s in West Kirby is taking part in the Big Help Out, with people invited to take part in a taster event to experience volunteering in their shop. More information can be found here.
