A new network event for local business people is taking place in West Kirby next week.

Wirral Entrepreneurs Network will meet for the first time on Tuesday 23 May at Leaf Tea Shop and Bar on Black Horse Hill.

The new event is free to attend and open to anyone living and working locally, who would like to network with other professionals.

It takes place from 10am – 12 noon, and people can call in for half an hour or stay for the whole event.

It is aimed at people who work from home, run their own business or want to get out of the office and make new contacts.

Organiser Gillian Torres previously founded several successful business networks, including Construction Pool, a national business development network for the construction sector, and Down South Liverpool, a magazine and network connecting business owners in the suburbs of South Liverpool.

Gillian said: “I moved to West Kirby six months ago. As a business owner working from home, I’ve been looking for opportunities to meet other professionals in the area. I find informal events the friendliest way to generate business, and a great way to stay motivated! There didn’t seem to be anything like this in West Kirby, so I created my own.

“I’ve been hosting events like this for almost 20 years. My intention is always to create a relaxed, welcoming environment and make it as convenient as possible for people to get involved. I’ll never charge for attendance. I’d just like to make it easy and fun for local people to build new professional relationships.

“If it’s popular, I’ll make it a regular thing.”
