West Kirby Christmas Lights have started their fundraising campaign to brighten up the town this coming festive season.

Around 100 volunteers are visiting houses in the CH48 postcode area with envelopes for people to donate towards the cost of installing and maintaining the lights. Businesses are also able to sponsor a lamppost or tree.

Rachel Kehoe, from West Kirby Christmas Lights, told us: “The volunteers are excited to have started their 2023 fundraising campaign to install the Christmas lights in West Kirby, Caldy and Newton.

“The success of the lights in recent years is down to the support of our amazing community. We rely solely on donations from local businesses and residents.

“Fundraising leaflets are currently being delivered into homes in the CH48 postcode by our fabulous team of volunteers. We are also once again asking West Kirby businesses to sponsor lampposts and trees.”

Local businesses who would like to sponsor a lamppost or tree can get in touch via the West Kirby Christmas Lights Facebook and Instagram pages, or by emailing westkirbylights@gmail.com.

People can also donate using the following bank account details :

The switch-on of the lights will take place on Saturday 18 November, starting from 4pm, with fair rides, entertainment, food and drink – and a special appearance from Father Christmas, before the lights are switched on at 6pm.
