The refurbished Ring O’Bells in West Kirby is set to reopen by the end of the year.

Owner Stange & Co has shared an update on its Facebook page, as work gets under way in earnest to refurbish the historic building on Village Road.

The company, which also owns three other pubs in Wirral, including the Jug and Bottle in Heswall, bought the site from Greene King in 2020, just before the Covid-19 pandemic.

They unveiled plans to invest substantially in the site, including building a side extension and outside terrace.

But their plan to complete the work and reopen the pub by Christmas that year was scuppered by the lockdown, as they focused on supporting their other sites.

In the update, they said: “We are so excited to finally see this get underway. The builders are moving in over the next couple of weeks and then it’s full steam ahead with plans to be open later this year.

“We don’t have an opening date yet but as soon as we do then we will let everyone know.”
